Happy Memorial Day! This weekend was jam packed. Saturday, there was no TKD class but we had to do our laundry in the morning, then have lunch, then we watched Shrek the 3rd (^_^) and after that we had to go to Costco for some stuff. Sunday morning (until about 1pm) was spent in church then we went to Jersey Gardens for lunch and shopping for when we go to the PI for our vacation so we were there the whole afternoon.
Today is Memorial Day and it's one of Jojo's holidays so I made plans to go to Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. We left a little before 8am, grabbed breakfast on the way and we were there at 9.30. There's a lot of fun stuff to do - aside from all the tables where you can color with crayons and markers - chalk area, baby area, computer games (coloring and simulation), craft area, animation studio ... and there was this really cool projection tv where you move around and it projects your movements in a very cool way ... just watch the video I took. I want to have this at home!!! BTW, even if the place is called Crayola Factory, this isn't where they manufacture their products. The closest thing to a factory in there is the demonstration room where they show you how they make crayons and markers. It is functional but a lot slower than the real thing so that we can see what is happening. This is where they make the crayons and markers they have in their dispensers around the 2nd floor that you can buy with your tokens (they give you 3 each).
The canal museum (price includes both Crayola factory and Canal museum) is where you can try your hand at what life was like then for families working in canals like harnessing a mule, lifting cargo, designing a canal with cost in mind, making bridges and such ... really informative and fun.
I'm glad I decided to go there ... it's just a little over an hour away and it's a nice day trip for families. We left before 4pm. It's a good thing we were there when they opened at 9.30am coz by noon, there were a lot of people already. And if you plan on going there, it's better to buy your tickets online or by phone ahead of time. Also, come in early so you have time to see the place without so much people.
Enjoy the slide and video (^_^)

Kaneva
I joined Kaneva almost a week ago and I love it there! Kaneva is a 3D Virtual World where you can interact with friends and there are cool places to visit and lots of entertainment. Joining is free and you get to customize the look of your virtual self. They also give you 750 reward credits so you can buy new clothes or furniture for your apartment (which comes with a few things already) or a deed to a cafe or club if you want to own one. You can also upload unlimited amount of media which can play in your tv! That 750 credits won't last long coz you will want to buy stuff so to get more credits, they have this Stress Test every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. You have to log in at 9.30pm until 10.30pm eastern and you'll get 1000 credits! Easy right? And there's so much to see here. They have a mall where you buy your things, a movie theater, lots of clubs and hang-outs so you will never get bored here. I'm excited about sprucing up my apartment. They give you a studio apartment at first but I want to buy a warehouse coz it has an open plan and I can customize it myself. You can change the pattern of everything in your place from the wall, ceiling, floor, even furniture! So this is what my apartment looks like. I know, it's still bare but that's ok. See what's on my tv? That's from the video I uploaded (^_^) And notice the paintings on the wall? They're my paintings. Cool right? You can see my profile here so when you sign up, make sure you send me a request ok? Hope to see you there!
Championship
Congratulations Finn!!! He joined the 8th Annual NJ Atlantic Tae Kwon Do Championship that was held in West Long Branch, NJ. As with last year, he competed in Form and Breaking and won 2nd in Form and 1st in Breaking (^_^) That's the same result he had last year but this time, they gave out trophies instead of medals. So these are the trophies and medals along with the boards that he has broken. Is it obvious that I'm proud of him? hehehe ...
West Long Branch is an hour away so when they finished after 11am, we started our drive back. In celebration of his achievement, we went to Kid's Kingdom in Edgewater so he can play. This is where we attended the birthday party last Saturday and he loved the play area and has been asking when we can go back. We had lunch first at Mitsuwa, a Japanese shopping center with a supermarket and food court, then went to Kid's Kingdom. They're practically neighbors so when we left at 4pm, we decided to go back to Mitsuwa to do some shopping. I'm so happy coz I found frozen takoyaki (octopus balls) It's been more than a year since I've had that and they don't usually serve that in Japanese restaurants since it's more of a street food kind of thing. I hope the frozen kind tastes as good. Of course we bought mochi (rice cake covered ice cream) and green tea ice cream along with other snacks. Can't wait to go back there! I just love Japanese stores.

Busy Day
I'm tired coz it was a busy day for us. We did the laundry this morning then had an early lunch before going to Finn's TKD class at 11.30. Class ended at 12.15 but Finn had to attend a special training session at 1pm in preparation for next Sunday's tournament. Luckily since we decided to stay there, Master Kim attended to him at 12.30 so we were finished an hour later.
From there we went to Edgewater for Abigail's birthday party at 2.30. She's the daughter of one of my castmates in TVM. Fun and games and food and friends! Of course Jojo and I played games too and Finn had lots of fun in the play area. We left around 6pm and went home. Then I had to pack for Jojo's trip on Monday in case we'll be out the whole day tomorrow too. After that I fixed dinner and here I am updating this blog (^_^) I think I need a massage ...
Advanced Happy Mother's Day!
Miami
Jojo left for Miami early this morning for his new job. Yesterday was his first day and he spent it at the office for orientation and other admin stuff. Today he starts on his project with a cruise line at their office in Miami. He'll be flying every week, Mon-Fri, just like when he used to travel to Maryland. I like it when he travels coz he gets to rack up on points and miles which we can use for our vacations (^_^) And I don't have to worry about cooking dinner ... hehehe. I'm not a fan of cooking ... baking yes, cooking no. So I can live off of frozen dinners, noodles, onigiri and cereal. Finn is not hard to please either. Another good thing about this is I have less to buy at the grocery (yay!). I hope he stays on this project for a long time (^_^)
Brown Belt
Finn got his brown belt along with a trophy yesterday! So proud of him (^_^) And he's gonna be participating in a tournament on May 20. Don't know the details yet but he'll probably compete in the form and breaking again, like last year, although this is not the same as last year's competition. I'm excited!
