NY Hall of Science

It’s the last day of Finn’s spring break and we were supposed to go to Six Flags, but the weather didn’t seem nice so we decided to go to the NY Hall of Science instead. We all enjoy going to science centers coz we get to play with all the different stuff. This one had a science playground, a mini golf and a rocket park. We just went to the playground aside from the exhibits indoors. I had fun outside coz I got to climb this web of ropes and go down the slide and play with the tubes (^_^) You only get to stay in the playground for 45 minutes. They let people in every hour on the hour. Good thing when we decided to go out, we didn’t have much company so we didn’t have to wait. There were a lot of school kids there in the morning so it was kind of crowded but they were all gone after having lunch.

Not bad for being second choice. We’ll probably go to Six Flags on Memorial Day.

Sleepover

Finn had his first sleepover with a classmate here at our house last night. We set up his tent in his room and they put their sleeping bags in there. They started off inside the tent, but then they said it got hot during the night so they moved their sleeping bags out and slept beside the tent =P This morning was spent playing the Wii and then we had lunch at Burger King. They played twister in the afternoon and then his friend was fetched by his mom at 3pm. Next time they have a chance for another sleepover, it’ll be at his friend’s house (^_^)

Park

Finn and I went to have the car’s oil changed plus some other things that needed to be checked. This is near our house and there’s a park across the street where we used to go to. Here are some pictures while we were waiting.

Gym

I have only gone to the gym while i was still working, and then again for one month years ago here in NJ. Now there’s a new gym that just opened last Thursday and Jojo and I decided to sign up (^_^) We really need to exercise and this will “force” us to do so. All classes are included and they have a kid drop off area which is great for when both of us are going at the same time. We already went this afternoon and we’re hoping to go everyday except Sunday. Wish us luck!

Kearny Fair

Every year we go to the town fair in Kearny. This year we brought along Finn’s friend from school. They had fun going through the rides and even tried the dart game. It can get expensive though but that’s alright (^_^)

Taiyaki 2

I just made taiyaki for snack today using a different batter recipe. I think it turned out better … fluffier. Let’s hope it tastes as good coz this batter recipe didn’t ask for sugar.

Day in the City

I decided to go to NYC with Finn today since there’s no school. We caught the bus before 11am and had lunch at Port Authority when we got there. We stopped by Jamba Juice of course for Finn’s Mega Mango and my Maccha Blast. Took the subway going to Dylan’s Candy Bar, the largest candy store in the world. Would you believe that Finn bought $20 worth of candy? It’s his money so I’m not really complaining (^_^) It was so fun going around the store. They have classic candies as far back as the 1920s!!! All kinds of lollipops, powdered candies, jelly beans, chocolates, you know, all the good stuff. After shopping, we went up to the cafe for dessert.

We then took the subway to Bryant Park. Was there for about an hour watching people play ping pong. There was this lady who won at least 7 matches – she was already playing when we got there – before losing. The rule was to challenge the winner. We were there for about an hour so she was playing for at least 45 minutes before she lost. And then this dude who was dressed like he was stuck in time stopped by to watch a match (^_^)

Finn and I went to Kinokuniya after. Jojo was done with his training early so he met up with us there. Finn bought a Kingdom Hearts manga. Then we walked back to Port Authority to wait for the bus home.

Good thing it was such a beautiful day today that we were able to enjoy it to the fullest. Hopefully during Finn’s spring break in 2 weeks, the weather will be nice so we can go back to the city and just hang.
