Yummy (^_^)

Hubby gave me this box of Godiva chocolates (^-^) I just had that raspberry star you see in the pic and it was heaven I tell you! HEAVEN!!! OMG I have to restrain myself so that I don't finish the whole box tonight ... hehehe. Wish me luck!

8 Years

8 years of marriage ... doesn't seem that long. But if you add the 8 years before that, we've practically been a couple for nearly half of our lives! Imagine that (^_^)

A few days ago I asked him what he wanted for his gift, he said we shouldn't buy gifts anymore since we have a lot of expenses right now. So I said ok. Then this morning he gave me a card and inside was a gift card ... cheater!!! I didn't get him anything at all (-_-) It was a nice surprise of course but now I want to get him something even if it's gonna be a late gift.

Jojo took the day off from work so I did too. We had lunch at Matsushima and then went shopping at Mitsuwa. I bought my taiyaki (^_^) Been craving for it for awhile now so we bought 6. Already had 2 as I write this ... hehehe. Also bought some Maccha (powdered green tea) plus other things that we need restocked like furikake, miso, noodles, you know, all the good stuff.

Before going home, Jojo stopped by a flower shop and bought me these beautiful roses. When we got home, our new friends arrived by UPS. Right now they're in one corner outside but we're planning on moving them by the raindrum and mushroom windchimes out front so they can be seen better. Cuties! The raccoon family was bought separately from the house but they go well together so that'll be their house. The door swings open and you can open the top for a better view of the inside. I might buy miniature furniture for the inside (^-^)

Now our afternoon is free and we're just gonna watch some anime, maybe play games later. Ok, gotta go now. Till next entry!

Birthday Weekend

Finn is 7 years old! And for us, that calls for a big celebration. We held it at his TKD school and most of his classmates came (^_^) I prepared the Mario Hat cake, Mushroom muffins and Goomba brownies (which were all a big hit with both kids and parents), drinks, chips and we had pizzas delivered. The party was like an introductory TKD class and Finn was asked to do a demonstration for them. He did 2 forms, showed all the kicks he knows and he broke a board. I must say they were impressed coz some of the parents already inquired about the classes (^_^). That party went on for about 1.5 hrs, then we had to clean up.

That wasn't the end of the day coz at 5pm, we had another party at home for the adults - mostly from Church. So much good food! The food we ordered was good for 50 people but we didn't invite that many so even if our guests brought home food, we still have a lot of leftovers. Good for me coz then I don't have to worry about cooking for awhile (^_~) hehehe. When all the guests left, we cleaned up a bit but this was already late and we were tired that we just left the rest of the mess for the next day.

Sunday after Church, Finn wanted to use the gift cards he got along with some cash to buy toys. We first went to IKEA to buy him a coat rack, Jojo bought himself a wok, had lunch there and went to Toys R Us where he bought a lot of Ben 10 stuff. Next we went to Target coz he wanted to buy a Wii game - he chose Super Sluggers. But he had some money left and wanted to buy more so we went to Game Stop to look for cheaper games and he bought Dragonball Z Budokai 2 for Wii, and I bought for myself the game Okami (yay!!!). By this time my feet were killing me since we came from Church, I was wearing my 3-inch heeled boots and we've been walking almost the whole day! Not to mention I haven't really had time to rest since I started preparing for the party the week before. When we got home we just reheated some pansit, tried the games out, watched the last few minutes of the Super Bowl and went to sleep.

Today I was finally able to clean up the mess in the living room and dining room, washed the piled dishes in the sink, returned the chairs we rented, dropped by the bank, did 2 loads of laundry, folded 4 loads of clothes, all in about 2.5 hours. Reheated something for lunch, took a shower, and now I'm writing this blog. Soon I have to go pick-up Finn at school and then go to work later.

I'm tired, but it's worth it since Finn had a blast at his party (^_^) I really enjoy doing parties, not so much the clean-up and tiredness and aching bones after.

Seven-Pito-Shichi-Siete-Sept-Sieben-Chi

My gwapito is 7 today!!! These are our gifts that he opened as soon as he woke up: Nerf N-Strike for Wii and the Ben 10 watch with 2 extra aliens. He has one alien already so that's a total of 3. These are his latest passions. (^_^)
Today he's gonna bring in some muffins for school, I have work in the afternoon, then church in the evening. Well eat out tomorrow night instead and then the party is on Saturday. I have to bake the cake today and carve it too so that tomorrow, I'll do all the decorating for the cake, muffins and brownies. Hope everything turns out well.

2009

First I wanna greet you all a very Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful celebration (^_^)
We had some friends over for dinner on New Year's Eve. One family stayed until a little after 9, the other until about 11. It was nice (^_^) Got full on ham, adobo, tuna casserole, hotdogs, and pansit. Dessert was Jojo's leche flan (mm-mm-good). There were a lot more desserts on hand but we just couldn't eat any more ... hehehe.
When they all left, we started to clean up some and then watched the ball drop on TV. We had noisemakers and horns and were making so much noise with just the 3 of us. I think we were the only ones awake in our neighborhood =P. After the countdown, I had to clean up some more, and asked Finn to go to bed already. Good thing he didn't argue coz he wanted to stay up until 2am! I guess he was tired too coz he was looking after 2 smaller kids the whole time (^_^)
New Year's Day was spent lounging around. We had breakfast at around 10, Finn finished breakfast at 11. All we did was have a Naruto Shippuuden marathon the whole day. Finn had lunch at 3 while Jojo and I ate before 6pm. Then we left for Church at 6.30pm. Finn wanted BK for dinner so we just bought it on the way.
Today is Jojo's first day at work for this year. Monday is back to school for Finn, and back to work for me too. Oh well.
Wishing you all the best in this new year!

Liberty Science Center

Today we went to the Liberty Science Center coz Finn has been wanting to go "somewhere" during the winter break. And since we're gonna be busy preparing for our New Year's Eve dinner on Wednesday, we figured today's the perfect day to go.
We were there before 11 and left a little after 4. Tiring but fun! It's been a long time since I've been there ... 12 years! So of course there's a lot of different things now. I think it's better if you just view the photos (^_^)

And here's a video of Finn and Jojo playing in one of the exhibits.

Snow Day

Woke up at 5am today coz the phone rang. It was a message from school saying it's a snow day today so it's closed. There weren't any snow yet but because of the forecast, I guess they were being cautious.

Finn called up his classmate at 8am to ask if their playdate today will still push through. Luckily, his mom didn't mind. They were here after 9am. Flurries started before 10am, and after some time, it was snowing harder. When there was enough snow on the ground, the kids (meaning all of us) decided to play outside. During the snowball fight, I was just a photographer. When that was done, I stepped in and we tried to make a snow man. But that didn't happen. I was able to make a huge snowball for the body, but they wanted to throw it instead so it got smashed (^_^) After that, we all decided it was time to head inside. I prepared some mozzarella sticks for the 2 boys while waiting for his mom to pick him up. They left before 1pm.

Jojo shoveled some around that time but the snow kept falling and so by mid-afternoon, it accumulated again. I figured it was my turn to shovel, so I did. Didn't want the mailcarrier to skip us because our walkway wasn't shoveled. I suppose another round of shoveling is on the agenda for later.

Here are some photos of our day in the snow. Enjoy!

My Baby Mario

I finished making a paper Mario hat yesterday (^_^) It's poorly glued but I think it looks ok. I might make a new one for Finn's birthday coz he said he wants it to be his birthday crown ... hehehe. Good thing it came out his size too. If only it weren't paper, he'd be wearing this everywhere the whole time (^-^) If you happen to find a real Mario hat somewhere, let me know ok?
